Tym razem fani legendarnych Nieboszczyków mogą podziwiać kunszt zespołu, zaprezentowany na żywo podczas pamiętnej trasy koncertowej po Europie w 1972 roku. Dwadzieścia wcześniej niepublikowanych piosenek na dwóch dyskach ukazuje się dzięki archiwiście zespołu, Davidowi Lemieux, który jest też odpowiedzialny za produkcję. W sumie fani psychodelicznego rocka mogą rozkoszować się dwoma godzinami z kapelą Jerry'ego Garcii. Zarejestrowane piosenki pochodzą z występów miedzy innymi w Londynie, Paryżu, Kopenhadze, Frankfurcie, Luksemburgu. Grateful Dead byli w wybitnej formie, a zestaw to esencja ich koncertowej doskonałości. "Ta płyta wraz z »Europe '72« kompletny ogląd możliwości zespołu podczas tego pamiętnego tournée" - mówi Lemieux. Oprawą graficzną zajął się Stanley Mouse, który odpowiadał za obrazki na "Europe '72". Grateful Dead grali wówczas w składzie: Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Ron (Pigpen) McKernan, Godchaux , Donna Godchaux. Wykonania "Bertha", "Sugaree", "Playing In The Band" są po prostu fenomenalne! Zaś jam session obejmujące "Dark Star" i "The Other One" to czyste mistrzostwo, przed którym tylko można się pokłonić. O jakość dźwięku zadbał Jeffrey Norman, który zmiksował piosenki z oryginalnych taśm. Masteringiem zajął się laureat Grammy David Glasser. |
