Good Evening New York City to album upamiętniający świętowane przez trzy noce muzyczne „chrzciny” nowojorskich Citi Field. W wydarzeniu brało udział ponad 120 tysięcy uczestników. „To były trzy wspaniale noce dla zespołu a dla mnie osobiście było to bardzo ekscytująceprzeżycie - być z powrotem w miejscu dawnego Shea Stadium, gdzie graliśmy 44 lat temu” – mówi McCartney. To muzyczne widowisko zostało zarejestrowane i będzie dostępne w dwóch formatach: w wersji standardowej na trzech dyskach (2CD + 1 DVD) oraz w wersji deluxe (2CD + 2 DVD) z dodatkowym DVD zawierającym bonusy takie jak nieemitowane fragmenty z programu „Late Show” Davida Lettermana, czy występy w Ed Sullivan Theater z 15 lipca. Materal na CD/DVD zawiera ponad 30 nagrań i blisko 3 godziny muzyki koncertowej wydane wspólnie przez Hear Music i Concord Music Group. Good Evening New York City jest drugą publikacją McCartney`a dla Hear Music. Poprzednią był album Memory Almost Full (2007r). Inauguracyjne muzyczne wydarzenie na Citi Field w lipcu 2009, w miejscu byłego Shea Stadium miało wyjątkowe znaczenie nie tylko dla Paula McCartney`a ale również dla pokoleń jego fanów.
